Terms of service

OpenSkills is a non-profit in Singapore. These terms set out what you can expect when you use this website, take part in our programs, or join our November hackathon, and where our responsibility begins and ends.

Last updated: 23 August 2026

Agreement

Using this site

By visiting openskill.world you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. We may update these terms from time to time; the date above shows when they were last revised. If we make a material change we will update that date.

This site is run by OpenSkills, a non-profit initiative founded by Yibo Yang in Singapore. It exists to share information about our AI education work and to let people register interest or sign up for events.

What we offer

Programs and events

OpenSkills runs free education programs and events, including our applied AI and development course and the November hackathon. The details we publish, dates, times, locations, and formats, describe what we plan to do. We work hard to keep that information accurate, but plans can change. We may cancel, reschedule, or change the format of an event, and we will tell registered participants as far in advance as we can.

Our programs are offered free of charge to learners unless a fee is stated clearly at sign-up. Where a fee applies, it is shown before you pay and is non-refundable except where required by law.

Your part

What we ask of you

When you register or take part, we ask you to:

  • Be honest when giving us your details, and keep them accurate.
  • Be respectful to other learners, volunteers, and partners.
  • Use what you learn for lawful purposes and not to harm others.
  • Respect the work of others and not pass off someone else's project as your own during the hackathon.

We may decline or end participation for anyone whose conduct disrupts a program or the safety of others. Where a fee was paid, we will consider a fair refund based on the circumstances.

No warranty

Disclaimers

This website and our programs are provided in good faith, but we make no promises about accuracy, completeness, or results. AI is a fast-moving field. What we teach reflects our best understanding at the time, but tools and techniques change, and we may get something wrong.

Any external links, to partners, sponsors, or third-party tools, are provided for your convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their practices.

Nothing on this site is professional advice. If you rely on something you read here, you do so at your own judgement.

Limits

Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, OpenSkills and its volunteers and partners are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of this website or participation in our programs. This includes indirect or consequential loss, such as missed opportunities or lost data.

We are a small non-profit. Our total liability for any claim arising from a program or event is limited to the amount of any fee you paid us for that program, or, where the program was free, to reasonable efforts to put things right. Where a mandatory law gives you stronger rights, those rights are not affected by these terms.

Your content

Submissions and projects

Anything you submit through a form, including a hackathon team application or pitch, remains your work. By submitting it you confirm you have the right to share it. You grant OpenSkills a non-exclusive right to use it for the purpose it was shared, such as judging a submission, showing examples of learner work, or reporting on a program. We will not sell your work.

Changes

Updating these terms

We may revise these terms as our programs grow. When we do, we will update the date above. Continuing to use the site or take part in a program after a change means you accept the revised terms.
