Privacy policy

OpenSkills is a non-profit in Singapore. This policy explains what we collect through our contact form, why we keep it, how long for, and how you can ask us to delete it.

Last updated: 23 August 2026

What we collect

The data you give us

When you submit our contact form, we collect:

  • Name — so we know who we are replying to.
  • Email — so we can reply to you.
  • School or organisation (optional) — context that helps us understand your message.
  • Interest type — whether you want to learn, partner, or volunteer.
  • Message — whatever you choose to tell us.

We do not collect any other personal data through this form. We do not sell, share, or pass your information to third parties for marketing.

How we use it

Why we keep your details

We use the information you submit only to read and reply to your enquiry. That may include matching you to a course cohort, a partnership conversation, or a volunteer role. If you go on to take part in a program, we may keep the records needed to run that program, but nothing beyond what you gave us here.

Where it lives

Storage and access

Submissions are stored in our database, hosted on a managed cloud platform. Access is restricted. Only the OpenSkills founder and administrator can read submissions. We do not store form data on your device and we do not use tracking cookies to follow you across the site for this purpose.

Cookies

Analytics and your choice

With your consent, we use privacy-friendly analytics (PostHog) to count anonymous page views and see which signup forms get used. This helps us decide what to improve. Analytics is off until you accept it in the cookie banner, and you can change your mind at any time. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not track you across other websites.

The only other storage on your device is what keeps you signed in and remembers your cookie choice itself.

Retention

How long we keep it

We keep contact form submissions for up to 12 months after your last message. If you join a program, we keep the records needed to run that program until it ends, then for up to 12 months afterwards for follow-up. After that, your submission is deleted.

We do not retain data longer than is necessary for the purpose you shared it for.

Your rights

Ask us to delete your data

You can ask us to delete your submission at any time, for any reason. Email us from the address you used and tell us you'd like your data removed. We will delete it within 14 days and confirm by reply.

You can also ask us what data we hold about you, or to correct something that's wrong. There is no charge for any of these requests.
