How the weekend is split

Three events

Event 01

Migrant workers track

Open only to migrant workers, including graduates of the OpenSkills course. Build a tool that solves a problem you actually live with.

Event 02

Students track A

Student teams build real solutions for partner businesses: practical workflows, not demos.

Event 03

Students track B

Student teams build for charities. Example: an AI-integrated workflow for It's Raining Raincoats.

Real problems from real partners

What teams will build

Every brief comes from a real partner: a Singapore business or charity with a workflow that's slow, manual, or inaccessible. Teams scope the problem with the partner, then ship something usable inside the event.

An example brief: an AI-integrated intake and case workflow for It's Raining Raincoats, cutting down the manual work volunteers do to route requests from migrant workers.

How it runs

From brief to handover

  1. Phase 01Briefs publishedPartner businesses and charities submit the real problems teams will work on.
  2. Phase 02Applications openTeams apply to a track. Migrant worker teams get priority support and mentoring.
  3. Phase 03Build dayTeams scope with their partner in the morning and build a working solution the same day.
  4. Phase 04Judging and demosLive demos judged on partner impact, usability, and the technical work behind it.
  5. Phase 05HandoverWinning solutions are handed to the partner so the work keeps running after the event.

Applications and interest

Register for November

Tell us who you are and we'll email you the moment applications open. Migrant worker teams get priority support and mentoring.

Takes about a minute: your name, email, track, preferred team size and your experience level. No coding experience needed.

Students pay a one time $5 SGD participation fee at the end of the form. Migrant worker entrants pay nothing.
